Not having luck getting multiple callsign notes to work

Hi all, I am a relative newbie to parks operation and have been learning my way around PoLo. I have been trying to get the Multiple Callsigns list feature to work without success. I have a file created .txt on Drive and the share link appears to work when PoLo is pointed at it but nothing is drawn into the Their Call field when I enter someone on the list. I must be missing something. If another can help point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Thank You. Albert
PS. I have gone back through forum history for help to no avail.

I assume you are referring to Callsign Expansion explained here:

Is this what you are after?
Alan

Hi Alan, thank you for your quick reply. The link you provided is what I am attempting to accomplish. I have read those instructions and my file link is being refreshed in Polo so it appears the share link is good however I must be editing the file incorrectly perhaps. I have also turned on callsign notes feature as well.

yes - you must have the callsign notes enabled. And I assume you are entering the “shortcut” with a 2 dot or slash leader.
You can post a snippet of your file here is you wish
Alan

Thanks Alan, will continue a bit later if ok. Need to leave.

Hi Alan, callsign notes is enabled. I typed the 2 dots which became slashes as expected plus the callsign shortcut. When I hit the send button, the field above the “their call” field changes to the word “true” and after several seconds it and what I entered into the “their call” field disappears and no QSO is recorded. A second press of the send button does nothing either.
I could not get my own file to work so I cut and pasted your example from the instructions:

1AO VK1AO,VK2MET
4KC VK4KC,VK4MAD,VK4DOG
1RF VK1RF,VK2MK, VK4CEE

etc

it is saved as a .txt file called “My multi call list.txt” on Google Drive.

I need to see the file Albert. Share the google drive link… dm it if you wish.
Alan
if you are not getting this on entry (before any attempt to send),

then your format is wrong or you have not actually enabled the file here:

Thanks for going through this with me Alan. The Google link is

I note that when my file is refreshed, it shows 84 callsigns and has done for each file I have tried.
I found I could not embed more than 1 item but had more pics to send.

more pics

I’ve requested access to the file Albert. You need to grant me access.
Alan

Sorry, why is there a literal # etc line in the file?
that’s just to indicate that you should continue in that form.
Alan

The file works fine either way - have you made sure you have it enabled as per these instructions?

And do you have callsign Notes enabled as a data lookup source?

I had pics of the enabled feature but could not attach more than 1 in a reply.
I think my status has been lifted now though.
The # line should only be seen as a remark should it not? Or should there be an EOF.
I just copied and pasted what was in the example in this case.

I don’t see your attempt to enter a callsign. When I type …1AO I get this

I also see you have 84 callsigns downloaded now so we are not talking about the same file as you sent me…

I am at a loss to find the problem Alan. I created a totally new text file with one line from scratch with a new link but PoLo still loads something with 84 callsigns in it.
I wonder if uninstalling and starting from a fresh install may help.
I have a fellow amateur who uses PoLo and is going to try it on his tablet.
I will keep you updated on what we find. Thank you.

the file you sent me looks awfully like a file that has 84 characters.
I have suspicions this is a character set issue.
I will send you a link of mine for you to test
Alan

That would be great. Thanks

I’ve sent you message Albert

Callsign Notes files stored in a Cloud service need to be granted free access as a public resource or shared with everyone.
Alan

Also, can you send me a link to your file so I can take a look?

If possible, don’t change it. I’d like to try to reproduce the problem in my developement environment.

I suspect it might be an issue with text encoding and/or line endings.
