Hello. I will be upgrading my iPhone this week and want to be able to transfer my activations from my old phone to my new phone. First, is it possible? Second, I do subscribe to the $2.99 a month syncing service so would I use this service for this purpose or is there a better way? Any advice is appreciated.
The service will take care of the sync.
Make sure you use the same email address on the new device.
If you have an issue let us know.

Thank you, Alan.
Best,

Alan,
Thanks again for your help. I was successful at importing my logs.
I am having trouble with two specific areas that worked on my old phone.
the first issue is that when I start a new log I am not getting park recommendations based on my location. I was also trying to build a log with KFF 4497, the Finger Lakes National Forest and I couldn’t locate the park either searching by name or by park number. I presume it’s a setting but I cannot seem to find it.
Thanks,
Mike
Mark, 2 things:
- Have you downloaded the WWFF directory?
- Have you entered your callsign so PoLo can list parks for your jurisdiction?
Alan
The Directory data and all program data is not part of the sync process. It’s device indpendent.
Alan
Good morning, Alan. Thank you for clarifying. Below are two screenshots that I hope provide context. It’s not limited to just WWFF. LLOTA and POTA behave the same way.
Have you got your gps on and granted permission to PoLo?
If you start typing a park name do you see a list building?
Alan
Go to the operation location and endure you have gridsquare.
Devices often cannot acquire a location if you are indoors.
Alan
Alan,
Thank you for all your help. My grid square populates as shown in the picture below. Nothing happens when I type a park name in POTA. But, if I know the park number it will show me the park in POTA (see picture). However, in WWFF it doesn’t recognize either the park name or number. I did an activation last night so I could load the POTA parks because I knew the numbers but I couldn’t load a WWFF park.
Can you go into the Data Settings screen and refresh the data files for POTA and WWFF? The problem you’re having can be explained if the app does not have park data for some reason.
Also, side note, when searching for parks you can search by name too… no need to use numbers.
Thank you very much, sir. That did it. I am very grateful to both you and Alan for your help. I love Polo.
Best,
Mike
