Both English Castles and Belgian Castles are already supported. Go to App Features, Show more features.
Are there more castles?
Alan
I think there are… Have a look at COTA-Castles on the Air – COTAGROUP German castles
castle list at: DL-WCA-Liste – COTAGROUP
And for world wide castles https://wcagroup.org/
Programs can be added to PoLo. The administrators or someone else… of the programs need to provide certain resources which are publicly available.
What is needed is an export - preferably regularly exported - of a list of sites similar to the list for POTA. Like this:
https://pota.app/all_parks_ext.csv
And it needs to be published as a publicly accessible resource.
That’s the first step. I do not see a link to such a resource - perhaps you know where it is?
We will also need to know the rules regarding contacts/dupes etc. And also perhaps you are aware of a spotting resource. I assume you use GMA: https://cqgma.org/
I have not seen any castles spots but perhaps a different url is being used for castle spots as opposed to some other park etc spots.

I’m new to all of this; but maybe i can pass this thread to some people.
As far as I see, the german site one has the list as web page (link above).
for the international there is an excel / libre office document: https://wcagroup.org/FORMS/WCALIST.xls
https://wcagroup.org/FORMS/WCALIST.ods
OK I see the list links above have castle name and location also by name. It would be good if the location could be gridsquare or lat/long.
The list would be better as csv and a cron job arranged for regular update/export also to a public url.
And then any special rules for activators for achieving awards e.g. 10 for POTA in one UTC day and 10/44 for WWFF are rules for the parks programs respectively.
Alan
You can, of course, always use the Custom Activity which is available in PoLo.
Enabling Custom Activity and choosing it for an Operation is already prompting you for castle details.
We need a “raw data file” that has reference number and reference names. By “raw data file” I mean something like a Comma-separated (CSV) or Tab-separated (TSV) file, or JSON or even XML. But it has to be a file that’s easy to parse, unlike an HTML page or an Excel spreadsheet.
And we need that file to be maintained and updated when new references are added. It’s not enough to get one file emailed to me one day; we prefer that data file to be somewhere on a server where we can download it regularly, and where someone (not me) is responsible to keep the file updated.
This has been the biggest challenge when adding support for programs like COTA, and the main reason we only have English and Belgian Castles right now.
I see. I try to ask around; let’s see…
I might have Something for the German castles, but cannot post here due to automatical flagging as spam. Is there any contact email address?
