Following on from the earlier thread about marking posts as ‘done’, I wanted to suggest something that might help users without adding any process overhead.
Discourse has a first-party plugin called Discourse Solved which adds a green ✓ checkmark to topic titles in the category listing when a post is marked as answered. Unlike the done tag (which is only visible once you open a thread), the checkmark is immediately visible when browsing; so users can quickly see whether something has already been addressed before posting a duplicate, or check whether their reported issue has been fixed.
It doesn’t require any change to how the team currently operates. Whoever is already applying the done tag could simply mark the topic as solved instead, or as well. There’s no backlog, no board, no tickets, just a small visual indicator that answers the question “has this been dealt with?” at a glance.
Would this be something worth enabling? I think it would go a long way towards making the Issues & Ideas category easier to navigate for new users.
