When using the spotting functionality alternative bands and modes are unavailable. As additionally no spots are ever found/displayed
do you mean viewing spots from other OPs?
or you spotting yourself?
I can currently see all spots I choose to see.
Perhaps you can tell us the version you have?

Do you have all Bands, Modes Any Age selected?
Do you see the count of spots per continent and source?
I think the time filter was set for too short of a duration given the poor band conditions at the time.
