Spot page goes away after returning from the map page. Only way to get the program to work properly again is for me to turn off and the turn the phone back on

I certainly cannot duplicate this issue on my 3 devices (android and iOS). It may be particular to your hardware.
Instead of turning off and on, have you tried going back to the operation list. And maybe opening the spots from the hamburger menu next to the Quick Call Lookup entry field?
