When using the Self Spotting tab to self spot it always says QRV even if you QSY.
That’s correct Mark, and by design.
QRV is a catch all comment assuming you are always ready.
You can save more time, however, by just entering the QSY, QRV, QRT etc shortcuts in the Their Call field and sending it as explained further here:
Alan
I usually add a little note with my QRV, QSY, or QRT and you can’t do that in the Call Sign field. When I changed frequency the message in the Self Spotting used to change from QRV to QSY. It’s not a big deal just a change I noticed since updating yesterday.
Today, the self spotting from the entry window doesn’t work (SPME/CW). Worked FB yesterday. --n1bs
Are you saying it does not recognise the command?
or are you saying the spot never appears?
or some other form of “not working”?
“doesn’t work” is not easy to track down unless you are more specific.
Alan
For example putting QRT in the callsign field you can’t hit the enter key on the keyboard or send on the screen to send the spot. Unfortunately I can’t upload a screen recording on here. But here’s a link to it to view it if you want to.
Hitting enter, either on-screen or external keyboard does nothing. The SPME /CW stays in the entry window. Top of the info screen shows SPME/CW with a QRZ button next to it. I don’t believe it did that before. Like it thinks it’s a callsign lookup?
Mind you, it worked yesterday, and I’ve used the functionality dozens of times.
Samsung tablet Android 15.
Split mode or portrait, same thing.

again… what happens when you use the up arrow?
same no action? I do not have iOS to test this. I need you guys to clarify.
Alan
You’ll have to use the Self Spotting full action until the issue is resolved.
Alan
Yes it’s the same, no action happens. I’m on iPadOS 18.5 on an iPad Pro.
No problem just wanted to point it out and help resolve the issue if possible. Thanks
Yes, same with up arrow. I’m using Android 15.
I had this problem this past Monday. I tried to self spot using my 2025 iPad and it didn’t matter if I hit enter on my wireless keyboard or touched the screen. It would not self spot. I just tried it, now, on my iPhone 16 Pro and it did work using the touchscreen.
This issue is now resolved in the July release
