Hi,
I started to use Ham2k application to log SOTA activation on 2 meters and found some issues that could be improved.
When a callsign is entered and qrz lookup is enabled, if the callsign is found in the qrz database, the station’s QTH locator is retrieved automatically, and the QRB and QTF are calculated. If QTH locator is wrong and I will change it to something else QRB and QTF is recalculated correctly which is very good.
The issue first issue is when the callsign is not found on qrz or there is no network coverage. When QTH locator is entered the QRB and QTF are missing (are not calculated). I would like to have QRB ad QTF calculated if QTH locator is entered (6 characters).
The second issue is that QRB and QTF should also be calculated in case of filling S2S reference even without callsign. Today it works with 4 characters of callsign entered. IMHO QRB and QTF should be calculated immediately when SOTA reference is entered even without any callsign.
Why? In case you use directional antenna for SOTA and you copy SOTA reference or QTH locator you enter this date and want to know where to direct your antenna.
The third issue with QTH locator is that it is not available on main screen. Not all operators are SOTA fans and in many cases they need my QTH locator. QTH locator is one of the important exchanges on VHF so it should be visible on the main logging screen. IMHO it could be located in brackets just after SOTA reference.
