The “null” grid AA00aa is located south of Antarctica, and is frequently used to indicate that no grid has been input. Therefore it should generally be ignored in map views.
There’s literally no such thing as “south of Antarctica” 
but I get what you mean. Should be an easy check in the code.

But yeah, a simple filter or just defaulting to the center of their home country could be a simple solution there
