PoLo on iPhone doesn’t start after latest update

Application data is not stored in ADIF format or an ADIF file. It is stored in QSON format which is similar to json and these formatted lines are stored in an sqlite database on your device. The ADIF file is generated from the source when you export your logs for the operation. This export process essentially enlarges the data into ADIF format e.g. 2fer records as one QSO with 2 refences becomes 2 ADIF lines.
You can download the entire database if you enable developer mode which gives you the ability to move it to another device.
There is also a syncing process which sends your data to a sync server. While this process is, however, still under development, it has proven its worth by being able to retrieve data when it was thought to be lost.
The application is still developing and you are welcome to join the development team - it is open source.
So we all have to tolerate bugs from time to time. It has worked very well for me for over a year, with many thousands of QSOs.
You would always be best advised to export your logs before you go QRT on any activation. This standard operating workflow will greatly improve the security of your data.

I live in California. The App Store still does not show the update for the new patch for the polo app to start working again. When will that be available?

I had it here in Europe around noon.

I just updated the app. Everything is working again thank you guys for fixing the app.
All the info is still there. App is working great thank you guys. Keep up the good work.

New patch 7 has both my iPhone and iPad working again. Doesn’t appear to have lost any contacts! :slightly_smiling_face:

Data was definitely lost. All of mine.

@KI5JFF The app starts fine? but your activation is not there?

On the backend servers I only see two QSOs under one operation for your callsign.

For my part, it still doesn’t work on my Android tablet. The app opens and then closes. I just downloaded it from the Play Store and it’s version 25.4.0.
It works fine on my Android phone, but not on the tablet.

Yours is a different problem. Some Samsung tablets with less RAM cannot run the latest PoLo. We’re testing a “lite” version (missing some features to make it fit in available ram) that should run for you.

PoLo Lite version 25.4.0 works great on my Android tablet now!
I’ll be testing it live tomorrow with BOTA activation.
