First, Thanks for getting this all set up and ready to run for the Ohio QSO Party. However I did have a few issues that I want to relay. I was running August ‘25 (patch 1) Release: 25.8.1 - Base Build 25.8.8051. All of these problems occurred after about 150-200 contacts were in the log.
- Three times during the QSO party Ham2k crashed. The screen went black, then about 5 seconds later it closed out. When I restarted it, everything was still there… no data lost. EXCEPT, for once, when I had typed the call sign in but had not yet hit enter when it crashed. So I lost that call. I was still on that QSO, so I was able to get his call again and re-enter it when I got it back open. Also, when I exported the files, I noticed that there were double entries where Ham2K crashed.
- I had some lagging issues that caused logging issues. For example, when I received a call from someone in FL and entered FL then . Ham2K would send the QSO up to the QSO window, but only the F was there. This happened several times with various states. I even began to pause for a few moments to give it time to acknowledge but it still sometimes missed the second letter. Again, no real data loss, I just had to go through the logs carefully and make sure all the locations were there.
- Finally, I know when we enter the location, it provides us a “help" window to make sure we get our multiplier correct. However, after one of the crashes, I had a permanent “help” window showing. I grabbed a screen shot of this and will attach it to this report (hopefully).
All-in-all I think Ham2K ran fine. Fortunately most of the bugs were during slower periods of the contest. So thanks for making this available. Let me know if you need more information.
