I’m starting to make some test QSO’s for a portable operation in the August NAQP CW.
When entering a callsign + spacebar it is pulling the name in from I believe QRZ. It should be pulling the name from VE2FK’s pre-fill database: https://dxlog.net/sw/files/download/database/NAQP_db.txt
Is this a setting I missed somewhere?
Using “Notes” wont automatically fill in the exchange will it? That is what is required.
VE2FK’s file is used by all the contest loggers. I assumed it would be automatically loaded when setting up a contest log?
The names file is purely there as a prompt especially useful when no cell coverage is available. The contents of the notes file does not get integrated into your log.
You may be thinking in terms of the N1MM lookup file. This is a different kind of thing.
And no, the contest operation in PoLo does not do this sort of thing at this time.

“You may be thinking in terms of the N1MM lookup file. This is a different kind of thing.”
Yes, this is exactly what i was thinkin of.
“And no, the contest operation in PoLo does not do this sort of thing at this time.”
Is it coming? If not I’ll have to look for another logging solution. I can’t imagine doing a contest without it.
There is no plan at this time to have that feature. But it may come after the desktop version arrives. Lots of things will eventually arrive. It’s down to priorities and the precious resource of time.
Alan
Okay, thanks. I only have until August. I’ll look at other solutions.
Maybe I’m hallucinating, but I thought I listened to a podcast where PoLo was described as a contest logger… That sounded like a neat solution.

Lots of podcasts around,.. don’t know the one you are referring to. Can’t tell you if they got it wrong or you misheard.
PoLo has been around over 2 years. It was initiated as a Portable Logger. It has always had a Custom Simple Contest template included (fixed exhange). It now has QSO Party templates and a template for maintaining serial number exchanges.
The feature you are expecting is not there at this time.
Alan
I created a custom NAQP Callsign Notes file: https://www.qsl.net/w3rga/polo/naqp.txt
Maybe I can make this work… Still way more typing than I’d like.
Is there a list of keyboard shortcuts?
Sorry - I have no idea what you expect. These tips may work for you
Otherwise, perhaps browse thru the rest of the Manual and you may see something else.
Alan
I didn’t find anything in the manual.
When you tab/space into the name field. Is there a shortcut do delete the populated name?
Are you referring to the fields behind the More button? the fields which are populated from a QRZ or similar lookup?
If so, there are no shortcut actions on this form other than typical long press to select all , copy paste etc
i.e normal operating system shortcuts
long press, then backspace
Jumps it the the state.
Neverminded… My fat finger. HIHI
After thinking about this a little more. I created a custom adif using the naqp pre-fill database https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tPgUQW7EMiDBeeKwnpQtuxKr58fDcF-d/view?usp=sharing
Then turned off all “Data Lookup” sources except my custom .adi
Seem to work well. Maybe this will help someone else using PoLo in the NAQP
