Is the map supposed to show all the contacts?
I’m on the latest IOS and notice some are missing.
I uploaded the ADI file to another website which pulls the details for QRZ.
I wondered if it’s a bug or I’m missing something?
Bob,
The adi file you have uploaded is the park upload file which is by design the minimum required for upload. i.e. it does not contain gridsquares or other personal data.
The full file does contain personal data which is dependent on your QRZ subscription level. If you have a free account, it will not contain gridsquares.
Any contact in PoLo which does not contain a location will be mapped on the centroid of the country according to the big.cty file.
This may be what you are seeing. More information can be found here:
Thanks for the explainantion and reminding me I should subscribe to QRZ.com
I so just subscribed and now all the map locations are now shown on the map.
Hi am I experiencing the same thing?
Since this latest update not all QSO’s are showing lines on the Map and it’s not showing other bands such as 17m (and a couple of days ago 10m)
I have a QRZ account but don’t pay for it. Is that the issue? And if so why sone are showing whilst others aren’t?
No QRZ account means you are not getting the other party’s gridsquare. PoLo will be relying on the BIG.CTY file to give you a centroid of the country you are making contact with.
Drill right down on one centroid and you may be able to see that there are multiple contacts on the exact same dot. Makes it look like there are some missing but they are all, in fact, there.

Hi all, had heard today a buddy telling me that the partners’ locations are displayed for all on the map but not for a QSO with a US station. Tested then myself with 2 US SOTA partners and met the same: no QSO lines for both on the map page.
Is something different for displaying US partners?
Ignore choosing a Template, ignore adding an activity
Ensure your own location is set - 6 character gridsquare
Leave the band/mode as they are from their last use
Add W4GO and AC1Z ensuring that each has been looked up with names Matthew and Bob visible
When I follow this simple sequence I get the resulting map below. Depending on the result of these simple steps, we may need to compare your result further.
I have followed your instruction, but with the same result: no lines on the map. Only a black point in Switzerland for my side. This point is at the right place.
But the following is different: I can see the names “Matthew” and “Bob” in the entry section, immediately after entering their callsigns, but the log lines in the upper section do not show their names like in your example.
I had disabled the QRZ.com login since I don’t have their subscription. I activated hamQTH.com instead and can see there a QTH code, even in public, for Matthew and Bob. It doesn’t look like Polo would use/take/consider the QTH code from hamQTH.com. Matthew and Bob there show only a 4-digit (large fields) QTH code, what would be better than nothing.
I tested some German and Austrian callsigns under my same conditions. Polo showed them at the middle of Germany resp. the middle of Austria. But for Matthew and Bob not even a line to the middle of the USA is shown.
