Do you want to use a club call for a rover but don’t know if you will get an award? Well I went and tested out the system.
So I went to a single location which counts as 5 references. First Landing State Park US-1299 in Virginia Beach VA is just the place. It also counts for US-9907, US-9933, US-9935 and US-4567.
It was a chilly 45 and overcast / drizzly. I sat in the back seat of my Chevy Traverse, operated my FT-710 set to 100w with an EcoWorthy 50AH battery, so a knock off diamond 500 lip mounted ATAS120A. Yes it’s totally a dumb load and doesn’t get any DX ever. I do love this setup, though I did have some issues with the ATAS tuning on 20M I did make an activation of 17 QSOs SSB.
So let’s get to the point, YES the club and the operator gets a rover award.
