F-Droid app distribution for Android

Read about PoLo in the 2025-July QST (p.46 - 48), reviewed by John Leonardelli VE3IPS. It looks very interesting, and our household is looking forward to try it.

Are there any plans or options to publish PoLo on the F-Droid catalogue of FOSS apps for Android?

To be honest, my apps are all taken care of (updates etc) by the OS. And I group them on a page or wherever I consider them relevant… I’m not sure why I need another layer to group apps. The layer itself is an overhead and seems like it delivers nothing more than a feeling of app grouping.
Plus, from the list apps I see, most of them I have no interest in…
What am I missing?

Thanks for the prompt feedback.

Distribution via F-Droid would be valuable for Android users that do not use the Google Play and Google Apps subsystems.

For example our household uses LineageOS (LOS) for Android without Google Play, and F-Droid for distribution (and updates) of FOSS apps.

Edit: add LOS links ; do NOT use Google Play

do use or don’t use - seems confusing to me?

To be honest, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of F-Droid.
Nothing in my research just now would tempt me to use it or see benefit in it personally. But that’s just my opinion.
For the most part PoLo updates itself inside the app.

There would need to be a reasonable demand for such a thing before it would be considered worthwhile adding and managing a new step into the compile/test/deploy/documentation chain.
Again, just my 2c. Maybe further posts here will reveal strong demand for it.
