Currently I do not see a way that an operating using an external keyboard can navigate to P2P field without leaving the keyboard to manually touch the screen or use a mouse or track pad.
Perhaps one solution is to add a P2P field at the end of the other fields for the QSO call.
There is the “Smart Data” option which shortens the requirement to enter parks in full text by dropping the prefix. However this is limited to when your cursor is in the P2P sub-field.
Perhaps an approach could use the THEIRCALL field by entering P2P details after the callsign, since once you are finished entering the other details the cursor will return to THEIR CALL field, at the end of the text.
Finding a way to speed up documenting P2P details will help move pileups along especially when operating dual operator.
I have plans to add a “smart exchange” field, after the signal reports, that would let you enter P2P references, states, notes, contest exchanges etc.
I prefer to keep a separate field for calls and commands, and another for exchanges and other info, which will make it easier to identify the inputs on each one.
I would like to idea that as a user of Polo, I get to choose what fields appear wher eon the QSO screen. This could include adding a “smart exchange” field.
This is exactly what I was looking for the other night during the ARS Spartan Sprint contest, where the exchange is RST, STATE, Power (like ‘5W’). I used the notes field each time to log power, but made for a lot of tapping during a pileup
