Country-specific notes

This is very low priority but I think socially nice feature idea:

Have a “callsign notes” kind of feature but for country prefixes: this could be used to store for example “Thank you!” or “See you again!” in that countrys specific language.

Many hunters say “Kiitos!” or “Neljä-neljä!” in Finnish and I’m always a bit shamed that I cannot say it back in the hunters language. It would be nice that PoLo shows a “language tip” for me based on the hunters callsign!

One could make this file with “pronounciation” way for themselves.

Not a bad idea!

My main concern is figuring out where on the screen to show the information.

If you’re using PoLo on a tablet, there’s plenty of room, but on a phone the screen is already pretty cramped.

But I’ll try to see if I can figure something out.

Yes, on mobile this is a bit tight squeeze for sure.

Maybe it could be a some kind of context change for a moment when you log (prss enter) the QSO? As that is the point where you say 73’s etc.

I don’t think I’d do a global notes file that applies to every user, like the current “Ham2K Hams of Note” does, but maybe we can implement support for “prefixes” in notes files, and display those notes next to the flag icon when present.

This would let you add those however you see fit.

Then maybe you could create a comprehensive list of thank you translations and share the URL with the rest of the users here on the forums.
