I have reports of and also confirm myself that Callsign Notes (since the latest update to fix the B prefix in RST) has stopped working consistently.
It appears it may have something to do with looking up history.
I do get callsigns I have not never logged. But some I get which I have logged.
A lot of callsigns regularly show are not showing at all.
I have tried disabling and re-enabling/refreshing the list to no avail. It is still quite unreliable in what shows and what doesn’t
Alan
e.g. I’ve never worked ZX5J/Sergio
But I work VK4KC all the time and I only get his name from History
I work VK4MAD, VK4DOG all the time and I get them from Notes as well as history
And even though VK4KC is not “found” for the entry display, it is listed with a star signifying that it IS found in the file
I can confirm that. The same issue here on all my Android devices.
Yes the same behaviour as Alan has explained is also happening to me with the last update. My setup is that I only use my notes file. All other lookups are off including QRZ and history.
I’ll look into it later this week, once I get back home from a work trip.
I updated to 25.1.3 pre 2 this morning. I’m not sure if this version was supposed to fix the call sign notes issue? The issue is still there so maybe the fix is still to come.
Just pushed pre3 with more fixes. This one is for a different bug, but it might fix the notes problem. Can you test it?
@HB9HUP Roger, Can you confirm that this is no longer an issue?
Make sure you’ve updated to 25.1.3, released earlier today
Thanks Alan for invinting me, and thank you verry much Sebastian for the stickers. It is a plessiure. It’s not easy for me to explain the issue correctly. When i start e new operation with internet connection, everything works perfectly. If i lose the internet signal and log a new contact, everything is fine. If i log a previous call sign on a different frequency, for example, it only shows me the call name from the name file. I have now idea if this is a database problem or if it has to be like this?
I’m using the new 25.1.3 bleeding edge which I just updated to. I have made a new notes file with about 2400 lines. It is working very well. I have tested it on its own, and also with history and QRZ turned on. Thx for getting this fixed.
Roger, Yes, this is the way is should happen. With no internet connection, a name will be drawn from a names file (for you to see during logging) or a Call History file (which will then be used and appear in the QSO list). It sounds like you do not have a Call History file installed which is not totally necessary anyway.
Thank you Alan. Yes it is right. The Call History is not activated. I will try it with the Call History on. 73
