Any plans to have a windows version?

Are there any plans to have a windows version? Would love to have this on my laptop and integrate with JS8 and WSJT-x, Much like WRL app is doing, I think I like Polo better but no dice on my windows laptop :frowning:

There will be an app. It won’t be PoLo (portable Logger) but it will be part of the Ham2K suite.

It’s still a way off atm.

If wanting to run this on a laptop, there’s always the Apple M processor MacBook Air. I’ve tried and it does work.

You can also run an android device on a windows PC using Samsung Flow. Not sure I would use this with anger. It’s better on the actual device.

Any update of progress on the windoews application?

It may not be this year. There’s a lot to do.

Hello, I installed Ham2K Polo on my Windows 10 PC.
First, you need to install “BlueStacks 64-bit,” which is an Android app emulator. After that, Polo works very well; I’ve never encountered any problems.

Since PoLo is already a JavaScript application, is there a reason it would be difficult to make it a Progressive Web App? A server could deliver mostly-static assets, the user’s browser would cache the latest JS, CSS, and HTML for offline availability, and data can be stored in IndexDB or other HTML5 local-storage options.

A desktop version is in the works, and a web version too. Both would be based on React, and share significant amounts of code with the existing React Native “mobile” version.

But there is still significant amounts of work to be done, both in terms of making the code easier to share between these versions, and to build the UI elements, local storage and networking components, which are similar-but-not-quite-the-same between mobile and web platforms.

The main roadblock keeping us from having these desktop and web editions is basically limited developer resources and time. For the time being, we’re prioritizing the cloud sync services first, since that would be extremely useful when having multiple editions of PoLo.

Having Win2K on my laptop would fill in some additional needs especial logging during pileup, and cold fingers… i love the program, the logical approach and the intergration of all the *ota’s .. great and compliments for this program, also the call look up is fast. Thanks

Personally I’d rather have rig control in the app version before a desktop version. With Rig control, I wouldn’t even need a desktop version as my tablet lasts far longer than any laptop.
