I just downloaded PoLo yesterday and was so impressed bought a 9in tablet this morning for POTA/SOTA use.
Regarding general open source and paid for software within the ham community its been mostly a relationship of disdain from myself so have never deviated from paper logging, until now.
I never understood the idea of POTA, operators sitting in parks calling CQ until the last year or so when using SOTA and POTA activators to test the QTH QRP setup. I decided to activate a park this last new years eve and was astonished at 74 contacts in 2hrs and four activations later 144 contacts in 3hrs. These numbers don’t agree with transcribing logs to adif files so enough was enough and I tried a mock log with PoLo. Unbelievable. The ham community need more people like those involved with this software. People giving us something we dreamed of, that works, is intuitive, and is offered on a free and donation based basis with minor benefits, not major missing benefits!
Thank you for producing a community product which could so easily be commercialised. You’re honorable people in every sense of the word.
