I’m just wondering if anyone has come up with a way to use sync for a field day club operation? Nobody in the club likes the logging options we’ve used in the past and I thought it would be cool if everyone just logged on their personal phone/tablet and it was all synced to a master account in sort of real time. Is this currently possible?
Nice idea, but atm syncing is carried out based on multiple devices with the same email account. I think it would be clumsy for all involved to change their accounts to one club email. They’d lose their data or merge it into another account.
bottom line, not feasible.. but it may be possible in the future.

It can be done, and it’s not that hard, but as Alan said, there’s always the risk of someone missing a step and resulting in messy data afterwards.
In any case, if you want to try this, first step is making sure that everybody’s devices have configured an email to recover their sync accounts, and that all their QSOs have been synced.
Then uninstall the app and reinstall it, and configure it to use a new email, for the club.
Finally, everybody else needs to go into sync settings, connect their apps using the club email (which will need to be approved by you in each case) and when asked, select the option to “replace data” so that their existing QSOs don’t get merged with the club activity.
After Field Day, they can go back and connect with their original accounts.
Now, since the free accounts are limited to the last 7 days, they might not be able to recover all their data right away. If you’re willing to give this a shot, I can make it happen so that they don’t have to worry about getting a paid sync account if they don’t want to.
I am going to do exactly this with my local club. But right now it’s a bit of a convoluted process that understandably some people might not want to do.
I have plans to make this as easy as sharing a QR code in the future, but this won’t be ready in time for the 2026 Field Day weekend.
I think my club is going to try this. There are probably only 2 of us that use the app now so I’m just going to download it to a tablet and use the club FD email on that so i don’t have to mess with my personal account on my phone. If there are more than 2 devices syncing, with the same email do we need a paid account linked to the club email so that everyone (realistically 5 or 6 devices max) can sync with each other?
